1.               In relation to the Unnumbered Memorandum dated May 18, 2018 re: Conduct of CY 2018 2nd

Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), the Division of Catbalogan City in coordination with the Catbalogan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRRMC) are directing all elementary and secondary schools to participate in the simultaneous conduct of the said activity on June 21,2018 at 2:00 in the afternoon,

2.           The CDRRMC and other Civic Organizations selected the following schools to be their partner

school during the conduct of NSED, while other schools will proceed with their own observance

of the activity:

■ Catbalogan I Central Elementary School – KABALDCAT CIVICOM ■ Catbalogan V Central Elementary School – CDRRM
■ Samar National School – CDRRM and BFP
■ Silanga National High School – REACT

3.         To ensure a smooth and successful facilitation and conduct of the activity, an ocular inspection and

orientation shall be conducted prior to the actual event by the CDRRM and other civic organizations

to their selected schools on June 20, 2018 at 9:00 in the morning.

4.         A Picto-Narrative Report shall be submitted on or before July 02, 2018 to the division.

5.         School Heads, teachers and School DRRM Coordinators are encouraged and requested to observe

appropriate, suitable and systematic procedures relative to the execution of the activity and ensure

safety of learners and personnel participating in the activity at all times.

6.         Expenses incurred in the conduct of the said activity shall be charged to the School MOOE subject

to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

8.         Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance to this division memorandum are highly directed

Subject:           CONDUCT OF CY 2018 SECOND QUARTER NATIONWIDE

SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

All Department of Education offices and schools shall participate in the conduct of the CY 2018Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drills (CY 2018

Q2NSED). The Second Quarter NSED will commence on 21 June 2018 at 2:00 PM (Thursday), with the National Ceremonial Venue to be held at San Mateo, Rizal.

The objectives are as follows:

1.   To evaluate the readiness and awareness of learners and DepEd personnel for

earthquakes; and,

2. To evaluate the coordination and communication mechanisms during evacuation
       procedures and response.

Proper documentation and post-activity evaluation of said drill is required. All ield ofices are advised to make necessary preparations to ensure that the required reports are submitted on time (Annex A).

Annex A. Submission Guidelines for the Memorandum on the Conduct of the 2018 Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drills (CY 2018 Quarterly NSED)

All schools, school division ofices, and regional oices should thoroughly follow the guidelines below; non-compliance is tantamount to non-acceptance of said reports.

1. School DRRM Coordinators will submit the reports only to respective SDO DRRM
     Coordinators by 26 June 2018.

2. Division DRRM Coordinators will consolidate NSED reports from School DRRM
      Coordinators and will submit only to respective Regional DRRM Coordinators by 4
      July 2018.

Division DRRM Coordinators will copy furnish to respective Office of the Schools Division Superintendent.

3. Regional DRRM Coordinators will consolidate NSED reports from Division DRMM
      Coordinators and will submit to the DRRMS. Submit all consolidated reports
      regarding the documentation and analysis of the Quarterly NSED to
      drrmo+NSEDfaideped.gov.-ph by 9 July 2018.

Regional DRRM Coordinators should copy furnish to their respective Regional Directors.

4. Cut-off time for all deadlines will be at 5:00 PM.

5. Regional DRRM Coordinators should use the naming convention below for emails:
