Factored Assessment Tool), SPECIAL EDUCATION & INCLUSIVE

1 In support of the various trainings and workshops conducted by the Department
of Education at the national and regional levels and in
connection with Regional Memorandum No. 250 S.2018 , this office through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) shall conduct a Planning Conference as schedule stated below.
2. Inclusive Education shall find ways of enabling schools to serve all children in the
community. Thus , this Planning Conference shall be conducted to properly empower trainers , update PSDS’s in the utilization of MFAT and involve them in the preparation of the District-Based Roll-out.
3. Participants and venue to this Planning Conference should follow the
arrangement
and schedule indicated on the table below.

ROLLOUT OF THE MULTI-FACTORED ASSESSMENT
TOOL, INCLUSIVE EDUCATION, AND
SPECIAL EDUCATION TRAININGS IN THE DIVISIONS

All Others Concerned
1. In support of the various trainings and workshops conducted by the Department of Education at the national and regional levels, this Office, through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), requires the different Schools Division Offices (SDOs) in the region to conduct a district-based rollout of the Multi-factored Assessment Tool (MFAT), Inclusive Education, and Special Education trainings starting June 2018.
2. The trainings shall be conducted to properly orient the teachers in the utilization of the MFAT, update receiving teachers on the latest practices in Special Education, and involve division and school administrators in the stronger implementation of inclusive education.
3. Participants to the above-mentioned trainings should follow the arrangement
indicated on the table below:

4. The SDOs may conduct the said trainings separately or together in one event. However, the training design should allot enough time for the essential topics to be covered should the SDO decide on combining the three.
5. The SDOs are further advised to tap the expertise of both the nationally-trained and regionally- trained Learning Facilitators from their own divisions to serve as resource speakers or trainers.
6. Expenses in the conduct of the rollout such as registration, travel, meals, accommodation, venue rental, and materials may be charged to the Division Local Funds, SPED Funds, School MOOE, or other allowable sources subject to applicable accounting and auditing procedures.
7. The Schools Division Superintendents should see to it that classes left by the teachers who will be required to attend the training shall be handled by a substitute teacher, department head, or school head; or merged/distributed to other classes in order to ensure that students’ learning will not be sacrificed.
8. The participants to this activity who travel or render services on days that fall on weekends, holidays/special non-working holidays, can avail of service/leave credits equivalent to eight (8) hours of service per day as allowed under DepEd Order No. 67, s. 1988 and CSC Memo Circular No. 09, series 1988.
9. The SDOs, through the Division SPED Coordinators, are tasked to submit a report on the conduct of the trainings a week after the event to the CLMD at clmd.region8@deped.gov.ph or to the Regional SPED Coordinator who may be reached at dean.endrianog&gmail.com.
10. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Memorandum are desired.
