SUBJECT: STRENGTHENING THE CONDUCT OF THE LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC)

FOR ELLN-DAP AND OTHER INSETS AS A K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOOL-BASED CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

DATE:       June 4, 2018

1     In support with the implementation of Republic Act No.          10533 or the Enhanced                Basic

Education Act of 2013, the Office through the Curriculum Implementation Division                                                                                                                                                                                     (CID)

encourages the Strengthening ot the Conduct of the Learning Action Cell (LAC) for ELLNDAP and Other INSETs as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School – Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning in the concerned schools in the division.

2.     The objectives of the LAC are as follows:

a. to improve the teaching-learning process that will lead to improved learning
        among the students;

b. to nurture successful teachers;

c. to enable teachers to support each other to continuously improve their content
        and pedagogical knowledge, practice, skills, and attitudes; and

d. to foster a professional collaborative spirit among school heads, teachers, and the
        community as a whole.

3.     In this regard, the Office expects the concerned School Heads with their Teachers who

attended the EARLY LANGUAGE LITERACY AND NUMERACY and DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE PRACTICES (ELLN-DAP) ENHANCEMENT TRAINING WORKSHOP to have started or continue the conduct of the school-based LAC in cascading/ resonating the topics discussed in the above mentioned activity.

The following inOiviauals are especially advised to account the conduct of their ELLN-DAP SLAC/LAC sessions:

5. For the School Head – attendees to the DAP-ELLN who have already started or are done in the
     conduct of their SLAC/LAC on the said program, you are hereby advised to submit immediately
     to the office Attn: Mrs. PAULINA D. GABON the following:

a.) the DAP-ELLN LAC Plan;

b.) the Attendance Sheets for the DAP-ELLN;

c.) Activity Completion Report (ACR) on the cascading of DAP; and d.) Issues and Concerns (on a separate sheet of paper).

6. For those who have not yet started cascading/ resonating the DAP-ELLN program, you are
     advised and encouraged to start the conduct the SLAC/LAC and submit the required
     templates the soonest possible time.

7. Enclosed herewith are the templates of the DAP-ELLN LAC Plan, Attendance Sheets, and ACR.

8. Incidental expenses incurred during the conduct of the SLAC/LAC shall be charged against the
     local/school MOOE subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

9. Immediate dissemination of and stict compliance with this Memorandum are desired.
