PARTICIPATION OF THE CATBALOGAN CITY DIVISION TO THE REGIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK (RSTW)

1. The Department of Science and Technology, Regional Office No. 8 will be celebrating the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on December 12-14,2018 at the Samar State University (SSU), Catbalogan City, Samar. The celebration will carry the theme “Science for the People: Innovations for Collective Property”. There will be exhibits showcasing the milestones in Science, Technology and Innovations and its applications to the different aspects of life. In addition, there will be different technical fora on various technologies which could probably be used by entrepreneurs, DRRMOs, agricultural technologists and researchers.
2. In line with the invitation of the Samar State University President, DR. MARILYN D. CARDOSO, relative to the conduct of the above-mentioned activity, the Schools Division Office is enjoined to attend in the “Technical Forum on Awareness on Intellectual Propety Rights” on December 14, 2018 at 8:00 o’clock in the morning at SSU Gymnasium. Topics on Protecting Intellectual Property, Requirements of Patentable Inventions, Plagiaism, Copyrights and Granting Procedures will be discussed.

4. To facilitate the travel of the participants to the Technical Forum, this Memorandum shall also serve as the Travel Order.
5. No registration shall be collected from the participants. Travel and other related expenses incurred by the participants during the conduct of the activity are chargeable against local/school/MOOE fund subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
6. Strict compliance and wide dissemination of this Memorandum are highly desired.
