SUBJECT: ORIENTATION ON THE POLICY AND GUIDELINES ON HEALTHY FOOD
                     BEVERAGE CHOICES IN SCHOOL CANTEENS AND IN DEPED OFFICES

DATE:          December 4,2018

1.     In view of the issuance of Department Order No. 13, S. 2017 dated March 14,2017, entitled Policy and Guidelines on Healthy Food and Beverage Choices in Schools and in DepEd Offices, this division will be conducting an Orientation on the said order on December 13, 2018, 8:00 A.M., the venue will be announced later.

2. The following are the objectives of the aforementioned activity:

a. Make available healthier food and beverage choices among the learners and DepEd
      personnel and their stakeholders;

b. Introduce a system of categorizing locally available foods and drinks in accordance
      with the geographical, culture, and religious orientations;

c. Provide guidance hi evaluating and categorizing foods and drinks; and

d. Provide guidance in the selling and marketing of foods and beverages in schools
      and DepEd offices, including the purchasing of foods for school feeding.

e. Discuss issues or concerns relative to Canteen Management

3. The participants for the abovementioned activity are all elementary and secondary School Heads and the Canteen Coordinators of die following enlisted schools.

No registration fee will be collected. The transportation and other expenses incurred for tliis activity shall be charged against the MOOE/LOCAL FUND of each school subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
