GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES – SAMAR COUNCIL REGIONAL JUNIOR, SENIOR & CADET CAMP

1.     The Samar GS Council will participate in the REGIONAL JUNIOR, SENIOR & CADET CAMP on October 24

– 28, 2018, at the Marina Yulo-Vargas Regional Program and Training Center. Cebu City

2.     The event aims to provide the girls an opportunity to live and work together, to test themselves in

situations that require them to use basic human survival skills without the ready-made assistance of mechanical and electrical gadgets.

3.    The participants of this event shall be:

minimum of four (4) Junior Girl Scouts per District minimum of two (2) Senior Girl Scouts per School minimum of two (2) Cadet Girl Scouts per School

4.    To finalize details of the event, a pre-campference shall be conducted on October 13, 20 & 22 to start

at 9:00 o’clock in the morning at the Samar GS Council Hqs., Catbalogan City.

5.    The delegates are required to be at the Samar GS Council Hqs. a day before the departure for the event,

on October 22, 2018 for the Pre-Campference and preparatios.

6.     The registration fee of SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS ONLY (PHP6,500.00) shall be charged per

camper to cover camp fee, food, accommodation, program materials, souvenirs with t-shirt, tours and transportation expenses. The registration fee, transportation and other expenses incurred by the participants relative to the conduct of this activity shall be chargeable against the MOOE/SEF/SPED/SMF/local funds of each school subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

7.     Widest dissemination and strict compliance of this Division Memorandum is desired.

Greetings!

We are happy to announce the schedule of the Visayas Regional Junior, Senior & Cadet Camp on October 24 – 28, 2018 at the Marina Yulo-Vargas Regional Program and Training Center.

Please take note of the details hereunder.

Theme              :           “Explore. Endure. Excel.”

Participants                  minimum of four (4) Junior Girl Scouts per District

minimum of two (2) Senior Girl Scouts per School minimum of two (2) Cadet Girl Scouts per School

FEE                              PHP6.500.00 per camper (to cover camp fee, food, accommodation,

program materials, souvenirs with t-shit, tours and transportation expenses)

Pre-Campference:    October 13, Saturday, 20, Saturday & 22, Monday. 2018

QUALIFICATIONS OF GIRL PARTICIPANTS

6. Must be a registered Junior/Senior/Cadet Girl Scout as of November 30, 2018

7. Must be physically fit and alert as cetified by a Licensed Physician

8.   Must have earned at least one badge under the Challenge of Environment, Preparedness, Ats,

Eco-Self Sufficiency, Heritage & Citizenship

9. Must have attended a troop/patrol camp prior to this encampment

10. Must have attended a patrol pre-camp

QUALIFICATIONS OF ADULT PARTICIPANTS

7. Must be registered Troop Leader as of November 30, 2018

8. Must have undetaken the Outdoor Leadership Course or must be a Campcraft Cetificate
      Holder

9.   Must have attended or served as staff during the school/district/council encampment

10. Must be physically fit to undergo the rigors of outdoor life

11. Must know and understand her girls

12. Must know simple First-Aid

A physical re-check shall be conducted upon arival in camp. Therefore, each girl is required to accomplish the Health Form.

THINGS TO BRING

The following personal things of the individual camper should be packed in a duffel bag and a knapsack provided with luggage tags or proper identification. Campers are encouraged to travel light, and bring only what are needed.

2 sets of Official Uniforms – complete with             Raincoat

pins, strips, belt, scarf, GS cap w/ white socks        Outdoor beddings: oil cloth & blanket

2 sets of Camp Uniforms w/ green socks                Bedroll / sleeping bag

ARRIVAL IN CAMP

The campers are expected to be in the Council Hqs. on Monday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. for the continuation of the pre-capmference. And the delegation’s depature for the camp will be on the next day at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon. Arival in camp is on October 24, Wednesday, and the Opening Ceremony is at 4:00 p.m.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Campers will experience exciting and adventure-filled activities such as:

Juniors – matial ats, handicraft, adventure games, disaster preparedness, and tours

Sr & Cdt – rock climbing/rappelling, matial ats, disaster preparedness, ham radio, mural
                 painting, handicraft and tours.

PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee of SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS (PHP6.500.00) per camper may be charged to the local school/SMF funds, but would depend on the availability of funds.

Please find attached the camp application, parent’s consent and health forms. We expect to

receive at the Council level the accomplished forms not later than August 31. 2018 to have ample time in the preparation.
