DIVISION SEARCH FOR THE MOST FUNCTIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY

1. Pursuant to Regional Memorandum no. 187 s. 2018, dated April 26, 2018, this office, through the
Curriculum Implementation Division will conduct the Search for the Most Functional School Library.
2. The objectives of the search are to:
a. encourage each school to establish and strengthen the utilization of a school library;
b. encourage schools to intensify the use of an existing library;
c. assess the functionality and extent of utilization of school library resources and services,
including their maintenance and sustainability and
d. identify the most functional school library in the division.
3. To realize the objectives of the search, a series of activities shall be conducted starting May 2018
following the schedule below.

3.1 Orientation of School Heads on the establishment of a school May 21, 2018
library
3.2 Establishment and strengthening the utilization of school June- September 2018
libraries
3.3 Submission of progress repot on the establishment of school October 2018
library for the search
3.4 Search for the Most Functional School Library November 2018
4. A Division Search Team (DST) composed of the CID Chief, the LR Supervisor, the Division Librarian and
the Project Development Officer (PDO) shall do the task of assessing and evaluating the school
libraries as to its functionality and sustainability.
5. The Three Most Functional School Libraries shall be recognized during the conduct of Pagdayaw in
December, 2018.
6. Travel and other incidental expenses incurred by the DST during the Division Search shall be charged
against Division MOOE/Local Funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
7. Wide and immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
