DearUsec.
Dino,
The AFS community—more than 1 million alumni, volunteers, staff worldwide— knows first-hand that global citizenship education empowers people of ail ages and backgrounds. Whether we have’ volunteered, studied abroad ourselves, hosted a student from a different country, or sent a child on an exchange program, we know the transformative, illuminating impact that education across cultures can have. Last year 40,000 AFS volunteers gave 12,578 young people the opportunity to go and study abroad, gain new intercultural skills and global citizenship that are necessary in the 21st Century workplace.
inspired from the success of the public forum on Global Citizenship Education held in line with the celebration of the 60th year of AFS Intercultural Programs Philippines (AFS IPP) in August 2017, the organization is pleased to announce an upgraded educational event that will feature in-depth discussions on the role of global citizens in nation building involving more than 400 students, educators and other public attendees—The AFS IPP Congress 2018.
This event will be co-presented together with Foundation University, Siliman University, and St. Paul University in Dumaguete City on May 9-13, 2018 with the theme: AFS IPP Congress 2018: The fole of Global Citizens in Nation Building highlighting thematic sessions including leadership training, intercultural learning workshop, project pitching and management simulation, which will consequently be concluded with a public forum on Global Citizenship Education and a night to celebrate cultural diversity.
In pursuit of expanding our reach in providing
intercultural and educational programs, we would like to request support
from your good office by endorsing a memorandum circular to encourage
students and educators of the Philippines to take part in this event. We
have enclosed herewith the detailed program of the congress.
Should you have further concerns, our team will be available to speak with you through:
