GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES – SAMAR COUNCIL COUNCIL STAR HOLIDAY, JUNIOR, SENIOR & CADET CAMP

1.       The Samar GS Council will conduct the COUNCIL STAR HOLIDAY, JUNIOR, SE

September 14 – 16, 2018 at Villareal, Samar.

2.    This event aims to provide the girls an opportunity to live and work together, to test themselves in

situations that require them to use basic human survival skills without the ready-made assistance of mechanical and electrical gadgets.

3.    The participants of this event shall be:

Grades I to III Pupils (Star GS) – 40 girls or more than and 15 Adult Leaders per District

Grades IV to VI Pupils (Junior GS) – 40 girls or more than and 10 Adult Leaders per District Grades VII to X pupils (Sr GS) – 24 girls or more than and 3 Adult Leaders per School
Grades X to XII pupils (Celt GS) – 24 girls or more than and 3 Adult Leaders per School

4.    The registration fee per delegate is:

PhP730.00 for the Star Level to cover program materials & souvenirs

PhP730.00 for the Junior Level to cover program materials & souvenirs PhP730.00 for the Senior Level to cover program materials & souvenirs PhP730.00 for the Cadet Level o cover program materials & souvenirs

5.    To finalize details of the event, a planning conference shall be                       ed on August 31, 2018 at 9:00

o’clock in the morning at the Samar GS Council Hqs., Catbaloga                     The agenda shall include the

confirmation of the number of delegates among others.

6.    The Camp Central Staff are hereby advised to arrive a day before the start of the event, on September

13, 2018 for the Pre-Campference, including venue preparation and ocular inspection.

7.    The registration fee of each participant shall be charged to cover expenses for program and materials.

The registration fee, transportation and other expenses incurred by the participants relative to the conduct of this activity shall be chargeable against the MOOE/SEF/SPED/SMF/Iocal funds of each school subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

8.     Widest dissemination and strict compliance of this Division Memorandum is desired.

Girls       –     must be registered Star, Junior, Senior & Cadet Girl Scout as of September 30, 2018

Must be physically fit and alert as certified by a licensed physician

Must have earned at least one badge under the challenge of Environment, Preparedness, Arts, Eco-Self Sufficiency, Heritage & Citizenship

Adult     –       must be registered Troop Leader as of September 30, 2018

Must have undertaken the Outdoor Leadership Course or must be a Campcraft Certificate Holder

Must be physically fit to undergo the rigors of outdoor life

Must know and understand her girls Must know simple First Aid

A physical re-check shall be conducted upon arrival in camp. Be sure that the girls shall bring with them their individual Health Form during the physical re-check.

The transportation expenses and the registration fees of participants may be charged to the local school/SMF funds, but would depend on the availability of funds.

Attached are the Application & Health forms and Reply Slip which we expect to receive at the council on or before August 31, 2018 to give us ample time in the preparation of program materials and souvenirs
