SUBJECT:    DIVISION    SEMINAR      –   WORKSHOP    FOR    AGRICULTURE    TEACHERS    ON    CACAO

PRODUCTION AND NURSERY PLANT VEGETABLE MANAGEMENT

DATE:           April 20, 2018

1     The Curriculum Implementation Division recognizes the important role of teachers as training

providers who can engage learners as well as the community towards economic productivity in line with the governments’ thrusts for food security, sustainability, social equity and global competitiveness. This office, in collaboration with the City Department of Agriculture (DA), Catbalogan City will conduct a Division Seminar-Workshop for Agriculture Teachers on Cacao Production and Nursery Plant/Vegetable Management at Catbalogan City Agro Industrial School, San Vicente, Catbalogan City on May 21 – 24, 2018.

2.     This Training program aims to:

a. Enhance the skills of teachers on agricultural crops production with emphasis on coffee
        propagation, production, nursery management and adopting technologies in their
        instructional delivery and students’ practicum;

b. Develop the interests on coffee propagation, production, and processing as a means of
        livelihood or a high – value commodities for entrepreneurial activities among students,
        local farmers and growers;

c. Encourage the school heads with schools’ big lot areas to venture in coffee propagation
        for income generating activities;

d. Establish nursey homes in schools for actual plant/vegetables propagation; and

e. Contribute to the governments’ efforts to increase coffee production in the community
        level.

3.    The participants of this seminar are the EPP/TLE teachers teaching agriculture subject at least

1 participant, per big schools and 1 for MG Clustered Schools with a total of 48 participants

from Elementary, JHS & SHS. Enclosure as to participants to this memorandum is herein

attached.

4.     No registration will be collected from the participants. Attendance is a must.

5.     Expenses incurred relative to this activity such as food, transportation and other incidental

expenses shall be charged against the Division/School MOOE subject to the usual auditing and accounting rules and regulations.
