PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT SUPERVISORS ELEMENTARY/SECONDARY SCHOOL HEADS TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING PERSONNEL

In connection with the above-captioned subject matter, enclosed herewith  is   the Regional Memorandum No. 190, s. 2018 dated April 23, 2018 RE: RENAMING OF BARANGAY DAPDAP NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO ROMUALDO T. VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, contents of which is self-explanatory.

To preserve the historicity, it is advised that the old name of the school, which has been sanctified by usage by the residents of the community, be placed beneath the new name as follows:

ROMULADO T. VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (Formerly Barangay Dapdap National High School)

RENAMING OF BARANGAY DAPDAP NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO
             ROMUALDO T. VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

1.                In reference to the recommendation from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines relative to the request for the renaming of school, the Department of Education Regional Office No. 8 through the Quality Assurance Division (OAD) announces the change of name of school from Barangay Dapdap National High School to Romualdo T. Vicencio National High School, effective April 23,2018 in honor of the late Romualdo Vicencio, donor of the school lot.

2.               To preserve the historicity, it is advised that the old name of the school, which has been sanctified by usage by the residents of the community, be placed beneath the new name as follows:

ROMUALDO T. VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

( Formerly Barangay Dapdap National High School)

3.          Copies of this issuance shall be posted at the Regional Office, Division Office,

Municipality/City Halls, Schools and other conspicuous places for reference and information of the

general public.

4.               The Schools Division Superintendent of Northern Samar Division is advised to facilitate the updating of data and profile of the aforementioned school in the Enhanced Basic Education
Information System (EBEIS) and Learners Information System (LIS) and to monitor the
implementation of this issuance.

5.               Immediate dissemination and compliance with this memorandum are desired.

Regional Office VIII, Palo, Leyte, the herein attached communication dated 04 March
2018 from Mr. Marco T. Tepace, School Head of Romualdo T. Vicencio National High
School, furnishing the Department with copy of approval of the National Historical
Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) regarding the renaming of Barangay Dapdap
National High School to Romualdo T. Vicencio National High School, for appropriate
action.

Please be informed that as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 45, s. 2017 Matrix of Accountability in the EBEIS/LIS, updating of names of schools in the Enhanced Basic Education Information System (EBEIS) shall be done at the Division level through the SGOD-Planning and Research Unit.

In connection to this, this office requests to be informed of the actions undertaken on this matter.

Greetings of Peace and Prosperity!!!

I would like to request the Department of Education through your good office or the renaming Dapdap National High School in Las Navas, Northern Samar Division of Nothern Samar with school ID 313619 to ROMUALDO T.
VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. The National Historical Commission of the Philippines through a Municipal Ordinance of Municipality of Las Navas has already approved the new name.However, the Local School Board was not able to provide a copy to DepEd Central Office the said approved letter form NHCP,

Attached is the letter of the National Historical Commission of the Phillippines to Mayor Minda Mercader Tan for the immediate change of name of our school in DepEd list of Secondary Schools.

This has reference to Municipal Resolution No.      594 – S. 2017, renaming

Barangay Dapdap National High School as Cong. Romualdd T. Vicencio National High School, enacted py the Sangguniang Bayan of Las Navas, in honor of She late former Congressman Romualdo T. Vicencio, donor of the school lot.

We are pleased to inform you that the National Historical Commission of the Philippines does not object o the proposed renaming based on the thorough deliberation of the Sangguniang Bayan of Las Navas and the Local School Board. However, we recommend that the word “Cong.” be dropped for the purpose of brevity; and that the old name of the school.be placed beneath the new name as follows:

ROMUALDO T. VICENCIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ^

(Formerly Barangay Dapdap National High School)

This will preserve the historicity of the old name and serve as guide to the people who are “used to the old name.
