SUBJECT                2018 UP KAUPOD INDIGAY: PAISAN ISAN HAN MAGKARIT

1.                    Pursuant to the letter of invitation of UP KAUPOD, a registered and active geographic

organization of the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College in cooperation with DepeD Catbalogan City Division shall conduct the annual competition of the UP KAUPOD, the 2018 INDIGAY: PAISAN ISAN HAN MAGKARIT on March 3, 2018 at Samar State University, Audio Visual Room, Catbalogan City.

2.             The contest aims to:

a. advocate the Samarinan culture and heitage to secondary students;

b. provide an avenue for Samarinan students to express their ideas and talents.

c. challenge secondary students by encouraging them to be well- rounded
        intellectually and artistically as well as promote camaraderie among secondary
        schools within the district.

3.             Participants to this activity are secondary school student in public and private school in

Catbalogan City Division. These students shall be guided by at least two            (2) faculty

member of the school who shall serve as their coach.

4.             The contest shall focus on the Samarinan culture and heritage and shall be composed of

four (4) various competitions and number of participants namely:

a. Secondary Schools Quiz Bowl ( 3 contestants)

b. Poster Making Contest ( 2 contestants)

c. Siday Writing and Presentation Contest ( 2 contestants)

d. Waray-Waray Singing Competition (1 contestant)

5.             Attached herein are the contest Mechanics and Criteria.

A registration of One Hundred Pesos (Php 100.00) shall be collected from the participants for their snacks in the morning and afternoon, however, transport/traveling and other expenses incurred by the participants relative to the activity shall be charged against School MOOE and other local funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules

and regulations.
