PARTICIPATION OF THE CATBALOGAN CITY
DIVISION TO THE 2018 NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF
TALENTS (NFOT)

1. In compliance with DepEd Memorandum No. 160, s. 2017 on the 2018 National
Festival of Talents (NFOT), this office, through the Curriculum Implementation
Division (CID), hereby announces its participation to the 2018 National Festival of Talents (NFOT) with the theme Pagkilala sa Kulturang Filipino Tungo sa Kapayapaaan, Pagkakaisa at Pagbabago from February 19-23, 2018 to be hosted by DepEd Region VII in Dumaguete City.
2. The 2018 NFOT aims to provide opportunity for learners from public and pivate
secondary schools as well as learners from the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to showcase their talents and skills through exhibitions of their products, services and performances, and to provide opportunity for teachers and learners to explore the culture of the host region.
3. Refer to DepEd Memorandum No. 1 60, s. 2017 for the 2018 RFOT specific
guidelines for each competition and Regional Memorandum No. 022, s. 2018 for
the 2018 NFOT List of Regional Delegation.
4. All contestants are advised to bring their School ID Card, set of School Uniform,
Medical Certificate issued by a government physician and parent’s permit. Should there be any unavoidable last minute changes in the participants, the Schools Division Superintendent should inform this office in witing the soonest time possible so that replacement from the next in rank can be decided on immediately and will be submitted on or before February 12, 2018.
5. In line with this, it is advised that Schools Division Offices should guarantee that
no classes will be left behind and should be managed by available teachers in replacement of the coaches to the 2018 NFOT to ensure that students still obtain the full benefit of the curiculum-based instruction. Student-participants shall be given additional merits for their attendance to the said activity. They shall be allowed reasonable time to make up and comply with other requirements of the different subject areas, including but not limited to quizzes and other examinations that they will miss.
6. There shall only be one Travel Order for all the participants duly signed by the
Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) which shall be approved by the Regional Director.
7. A registration fee of Three Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P3,500.00) shall be
collected from each participant to defray the
cost of the billeting schools, kits, including identification tags, t-shirts and
bags, contest materials, rentals of equipment or facilities and vehicle and other
related expenses. The registration

fee, participants’ travel and other incidental expenses shall be charged to the School MOOE/local funds or other sources of funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Memorandum are desired.
