SUBJECT: 2019 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge

1. The Division of Catbalogan City through the Curriculum Implementation Division
announces the conduct of the 2018 Metrobank-MTAP-DepED Math Challenge.
2. The Division Elimination will be conducted on January 17, 2019 (8:00 AM) for
elementary and January 18,2018 (8:00 AM )for secondary in the following venues:

3. The overall objective of the competition isto contribute to the improvement of the quality
of Mathematics Education in the Philippines. Specifically, it aimed to:
a. awaken greater interest in Mathematics among elementary and junior high school students all over the country;
b. challenge students to strive for mathematical excellence; and
c. empower mathematical talents with awards and recognitions for them to serve as models of the youth
4. Each school shall send 3 participants for each grade level. All public and private schools
are required to register online and submit the MMC Form 1 via
https://onlineportal.metrobankmathchallenQe.com.
The deadline for the registration is on
November 17, 2018. They shall also submit a printed copy of the MMC Form
1 to the district supervisor who shall forward same documents to
the division supervisor for consolidation and online submission of
MMC Form 2.
5. The highest scorer for Grade 6 and grade 10 in the division elimination shall qualify to the Regional Finals provided they meet the hurdle score of 30 points out of a perfect score of 60.
6. The Division Finals shall be conducted on February 7,2019 for elementary and February 8, 2019 for secondary while the Regional Finals for Grade 6 and Grade 10 (Individual and Team Oral Competition) will be on March 1, 2019. The National Finals will be conducted on March 29, 2019 for Individual Written Exam and March 30, 2019 for Team Oral Competition.
7. In connection with this, a planning conference with the Public Schools District Supervisors and District Math Coordinators shall be conducted on January 11, 2019, 3:00 PM at the Division Office.
8. Expenses incurred relative to the activity shall be charged against
Local/MOOE/RSHS/SPED Funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
