EsP DIVISION FESTIVAL
OF
TALENTS AND VIRTUES
1. Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 479 dated October 25, 1995 declaring the
month of November of November Every Year as Filipino Values Month , the Schools Division of Catbalogan City joins the celebration of the National Observance of the Filipino Values Month ( FVM). The theme for this year’s celebration is ” Mapanuring Paggamit ng Gadget Tungo sa Mapagkalingang Ugnayan sa Pamilya at Kapwa.. The theme of the celebration emphazises the critical and responsible use of technology to ensure the development of interactive communication , interpersonal relations , personal and family , social and civic responsibility.
2. Relative to these , all schools both public and private are enjoined to hold
School/District-Based meaningful , simple and doable activities this November 2018 highlighting Filipino Values anchored on the theme stated above. The suggested activities below can guide the schools and districts in preparation for the EsP Division Festival of Talents . Please see the attached enclosures for the contest criteia and guidelines .
Elementary:
1. Vocal Solo Kinder, Grade l,ll,III

Secondary

3. The Division Level Contest will be on November 29, 2018 . The inclusive schedule of
the school and distict level contest are as
follows : ( next page pis.)
Elementary -November 19-20,2018
Secondary -November 21-22,2018
Note:
First Place Winners in the school and district level contests shall represent in the division level competition .
4. All expenses such as meals, transportations , costumes , props, instruments , materials
and others related to the contests staring with the school level, district level and division level will be charged against the school’s local funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and procedures.
5. A meeting of all the EsP Secondary Coordinators /Depatment Heads and the ten (10 )
Elementary District EsP Coordinators with the EsP Supervisor will beheld on November 15, 2018 ,1 P.M. at the LR room , Catbalogan City Division .
6. Results of the school/district contests will be submitted to the division office on or
before
November 23, 2018 (c/o Dr. Evangeline L. Pimente! – EPS -EsP)
7. Likewise a Report of the activities relative to the conduct of the Observance of
Filipino Values Month by per school/district shall be submitted to the division office on or before December 15, 2018 using the prescribed template attached hereto .
8. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.

DIVISION FESTIVAL OF TALENTS
Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao ( ESP )
GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. Only one entry (participant) per school/district per category is allowed in all contests
2. Each participant is not allowed to join more than one (I) contest since all contests will be held
simultaneously.
3. There will be pre-registration of the list of contestants to ensure the actual number of entries.
SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST MECHANICS
1. The is open to bonafide contest Grade IV-VI and Grade 7 in their respective school/district.
2. Slogan must be original and must revolve around the theme .
3. Filipino language will be used , and the number of words must not be more than fifteen (15 )
4. The facilitator will read the mechanics, 15 minutes before the start of the contest.
5. Contestants will be given two (two) hours to finish their piece.
6. The slogan should be written in one fourth (1/4) illustration board in elementary level.
No graphics, designs or illustrations allowed. Only letters / words of the slogan will be written in the illustration board.
7. In the secondary level, paticipants are required to bring their own laptop to be used in
designing /lay-outing of the final output. The final output will be printed in tarpaulin. Publisher 2010 version will be used. No graphics, designs or illustrations allowed, only letters/words of the slogan printed in black ink.
8. The dimension of the slogan should be as follows :
Length -24 inches
– Width -18 inches
9. The decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
a. Relevance to the theme 40%
b. Originality 30%
c. Creativity (refers to language used, expression
of thoughts,ideas and concepts : no designs /illustrations 20%
allowed)
d. Neatness – 5%
e. Layout — – — 5%

COLLAGE MAKING CONTEST MECHANICS
1. The contest is open in two (2) categories
1. Elementary level ( Grade 4-6 only)
2. Secondary level (Grade 9 -12 only)
2. Collage must be original and must revolve around the theme.
3. Three (3) participants from each category is allowed per school/district.
4. The facilitator will read the mechanics 15 minutes before the start of the contest.
5. The theme
will be given right after reading the mechanics for the category.
6. Contestants will be given two (2 ) hours to finish their collage .
7. The collage should be made in one half illustration board using indigenous and
recyclable
materials.
8. All contestants shall be given a maximum of 2 minutes for oral presentation (each for
defense)
9. The decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable .
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

d. Oral Presentation – 10%

1. Contestants must come from Kindergaten, Grade 1,11,111.
2. Sing Tagalog songs with minus one
3. Costumes are allowed but no props.

POSTER MAKING CONTEST MECHANICS
1. Contestants must bring their own materials.
2. Poster entry must be drawn in % illustration board.
3. The contestants will use pencil, crayon, pastel and any drawing materials .
4. Boarders are not allowed. ‘The poster will be drawn in potrait.
5. A time frame of three (3) hours will be given to each contestant to finish their work.

Rules of the Contest
1. The contest is open to bonafide Junior HS
or SHS in their respective
schools.
2. Presentation must be relevant to the theme.
3. Presentation time should not exceed ten (10 ) minutes excluding entrance
,exit, and other preparations for stage.
4. Number of performers on stage should be from eight (8)toten(10) singers
and dancers), excluding technical assistance.
5. Contestants may use props and other stage sets, and appropriateness of the
costumes if necessary.
6. Live accompaniments / minus / CD are allowed, but no lip-synchs.
7. Original composition using local dialect is
allowed provided thatTagalog
translations
of the lyrics will be submitted to the organizers before the
contest proper.
8. The decision of the judges shall be final and irrevocable.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
a. Concept and Relevance to the theme – -30%
b. Choreography — – 25%
c. Musicality – – – – – – 25%
d. Props and Costume – – 10%
e. Over-all stage impact – – 10%

VALUE/VIRTUE EXPOSITION GUIDELINES
1. Participants are Senior HS students only in their respective schools.
2. This contest is an impromptu discussion/presentation of values/virtues
taken from the values clusters for ethical theme and DepEd Core Values.
3. There will be elimination and final round.
4. Elimination round : Each contestant will pick (choose) one value to deliver/
present in front of the judges.
5. The contestants will be given five (5 ) minutes to prepare
and three ( 3) minutes
to
present. Filipino language will be used as medium in the presentation of
values/virtues).
6. The presentation /discussion will focus on the content of value/virtue, its
relevance and application to the life of the student and to the community in general.
7. Final Round : The top three (3) contestants
will qualify to this round where they
will
present one common value/virtue. The same mechanics in the presentation
in the elimination round will be
used.
8. The decision of the judges shall be final and non-appealable.
