SUBJECT:            CONDUCT OF THE PHILIPPINE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS ANNUAL NATIONWIDE
SEARCH FOR YOUNG ARTS SCHOLARS (ANSYAS)

1.    Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 138, s. 2018, this division announces the CONDUT OF THE

PHILIPPINE HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS ANNUAL NATIONWIDE SEARCH FOR YOUNG ARTS SCHOLARS (ANSYAS) on November 9, 2018 at 7:00 o’clock in the morning at Samar National School, Catbalogan City.

2.    The program aims to:

a. identify and develop artistically gifted and talented children to become artists of excellence
      in the field of folk dance, ballet, music, theater, creative writing, and visual arts; and

b. to ensure a continuing source of artists of excellence and leaders in the preservation,
     conservation, and promotion of the Filipino artistic and cultural traditions.

3.     Participants in this activity are Grade 6 pupils and teachers who are inclined to arts or artistically

talented. The student-participants are requested to bring documents such as;
                       Fully accomplished PHSA Scholarship Application Form;

Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the NSO;

Photocopy of Grade 5 or Grade 6 Report Card; and

One page resume citing accomplishments in the field of arts

4.     No registration fee shall be collected from the participants.

5.     Expenses incurred relative to this activity, shall be charged against school MOOE Funds subject to

usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

6.    Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Memorandum are desire.

Greetings from the Philippine High School for the Arts!

We are happy to announce that the PHSA Annual Nationwide Search for Young Ats Scholars (ANSYAS) is now accepting applications for Full Special Secondary (K-12) Scholarship for school year 2019-2020. Application is open to all currently enrolled Grade 6 pupils from both public and private schools.

This program is endorsed by DepEd through Memorandum # 138 series of 2018. It aims to

identify and develop atistically gifted and talented children to become atists of excellence in

the field of folk dance, ballet, music, theater, creative writing, and visual arts. It also aims to ensure a continuing source of atists of excellence and leaders in the preservation,
conservation, and promotion of the Filipino atistic and cultural traditions.

The 2018 search for young at scholars in Region VIII is scheduled in Catbalogan City on Nov. 9, 2018 at Samar National School. The program also includes an Arts Workshop for Elementary grade teachers and trainers in the different at disciplines to be conducted by our Audition Masters.( Please see attached detailed schedule.)

In this connection, we would like to request your assistance in the wide dissemination of

information to the different elementary schools in your division especially to Grade VI pupils who have special talents in the ats.

1.            The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) Annual Nationwide Search for Young Arts Scholars (ANSYAS) is now accepting applications for Full Special

Secondary (K to 12) Scholarship for School Year |SY) 2019-2020.

2.        The program aims to:

a. identify and develop artistically talented children to become artists of
      excellence in the field of dance, music, theater arts, creative writing,
      and visual arts; and

b. ensure a continuing source of arists of excellence and leaders in the
      preservation, conservation and promotion of the Filipino artisic and
      cultural tradiions.

Applicants must be Filipino citizens who meet the following requirements:

a. Has outstanding ability in dance (folk or ballet), music (instrument
       and voice), creative writing, theater, or visual arts;

b. Grade 6 pupil this SY 2018-2019 in a public or private school;

c.    Not older than 14 years by August 2019;

d. Proficient in oral and written language (English and Filipino);

e.    In good health condition; and

f.    Willing to study in a boarding school.

5.        The successful applicants will be awarded full scholarship, which includes

free tuition fee, free board and lodging (with weekend home leave with parents or a designated legal guardian), individualized classes with master teachers, monthly stipend, free tickets to shows, events and performances at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, opportunity to get training, to meet and interact with outstanding world class artists, visiting foreign artists, and a chance to represent the country and the school in international festivals, competitions and exchange programs. The scholarship grant is renewable every year for four to six consecutive school years upon satisfaction of academic and non academic requirements.
